Benefits of Driver’s CPC Courses

For someone new to this term Driver’s training or CPC course / CPC licence here is a brief introduction-

Driver’s CPC means Driver’s Certificate of Competence. It means that this certifies a driver of his skills, ability, talent and understanding of driving HGVs i.e. Heavy Goods Vehicles or LGVs i.e. Large Goods Vehicle. Due to ongoing risks and difficulties to drive Heavy Goods Vehicles that carry merchandises and goods that need to be transported and delivered to the destination that is long distance, drivers of such vehicles require  proper training and understanding of how to manage the driving of such big vehicles loaded with heavy goods and merchandises.

Nowadays many driving schools provide these specialised CPC training. The CPC course provides an HGV driver with all the required training, knowledge and understanding to drive such big vehicles with utmost competencies. CPC training or CPC courses are designed in such a way that an HGV driver gets both theoretical understanding as well as practical experience of driving an HGV.

The CPC training or CPC course is provided in four phases:

• Phase one is theory exams which consist of multiple-choice questions and overcoming risk or danger situations.
• In Phase Two, the drivers are made to go for case study tests that wherein drivers a given an illustrative situation and they have to show their competency in driving HGVs
• Phase three test  the driver’s ability to drive HGVs or LGVs
• Phase four is a practical test wherein the drivers are required to practically demonstrate their driving skills capabilities, talents.

All of the above four stages of a CPC training /course will examine drivers understanding and ability of HGV drivers. Hence if someone is going to opt for CPC courses, then he will have to refresh their knowledge and skills of the legislation and laws about driving HGVs on roads. Also, it is legally necessary to undergo thirty-five hours of CPC training every 5 years to maintain their CPC licence.
